Thermo Air produces air handling equipment for a diversity of projects. To show you an impression of the possibilities we offer our customers, you will find a summary of a few our projects below. These can be projects in the industrial, housing construction, offshore or hire industries. Because the amount of references is too substantial to include here, we have chosen a small selection from our reference list.
School “SBO The Watergarden” in Almere
In co-operation with the acknowledged Verkaart Groep and the community of Almere we delivered 17 air handling units for a school “SBO de Watertuin” in Almere. This project is organized by Verkaart Lelystad.
For sufficient ventilation and a healthy climate for the students we chose this solution. The school has a direct energy saving advantage by the use of heat recovery.
High efficiency heat recovery and cooling
The Albeda College in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) chose a combination of energy saving:
1. High efficiency cooling with water and air.
2. High efficiency heat recovery
And delivered fully “Plug and Play”. This is combined with high efficiency diabatic cooling and a high efficiency heat recovery unit.
This project is realized in co-operation with the Verkaart Groep.
Multifunctional centre 'Meerestein'
Situated in this multifunctional centre are amongst others an elementary school, a day care centre and a community centre. The air handling unit we delivered is used for heat recovery with an efficiency of >90%. Because of this the centre saves considerably on heating costs. This air handling unit is build according to our “Sandwich construction” containing self supporting 40mm isolated panels.
Ultimate way of saving energy, high efficiency cooling.
An ultimate reference project, a luxurious apartment with the perfect combination of saving energy:
High efficiency cooling with water and air in the summer and up to 90% high efficiency heat recovery in winter.
And delivered fully “Plug and Play”. This is combined with high efficiency diabatic cooling and a high efficiency heat recovery unit. This unit is not only equipped with high efficiency cross flow recuperators and also with indirect diabatic Statiq Cooling. This innovative durable cooling method is developed in co-operation with Senternovem, TNO and Regent Laboratory.
Van der Valk Hotel "The White Mountains"
For the Van der Valk Hotel “ De Witte Bergen” we delivered several solutions for air handling. The photo shows an air handling unit build according to the penta post principal. This air handling unit is used for heat recovery and heating.
Air Handling Unit with heat recovery
An air handlingunit, delivered for a technical trading company. The unit is build according to the penta post principal. The unit is delivered with a cross flow recuperator for heat recovery.
Crematory Roosendaal
In co-operation with KTB Klimaattechniek Brabant we delivered 4 air handling units for the ultra modern crematory in Roosendaal (the Netherlands). Amongst others the oven of the crematory weighs over 5 tonnes and is larger than usual. We delivered 3 ‘standard’ air handling units and 1 unit completed with a heat recovery system.

Scotch & Soda
Design clothingbrand Scotch & Soda is located in a historic canal house in Amsterdam. A beautiful location in the centre of the city. But the climate in the workshops of the originally church was non workable. Eventually we found a creative and exclusive solution to be able to ventilate and cool the workshops taking the restrictions and regulations of historic monuments into account.
Mobile 200kW solutions
We produce mobile solutions for temporary air cooling and heating for several customers. These units are used on locations like the British “Open Golf” tournament but also at the performances of the travelling Cirque du Soleil or on the set of James Bond. The photo shows an example of a fan coil unit with a cooling capacity of 200kW, naturally also used for air heating.
No matter the diversity of the equipment needed by our customers, one thing corresponds; all units are build according to the specific demands and wishes of the customer.
Solutions for mobile cooling
For a large worldwide service provider in the field of temporary solutions (cooling, heating, power supply) we designed and build several mobile units with different capacities.
On the photo an example of a mobile fan coil unit with a cooling capacity of 100kW. These units are produced according to the specifications of the customer. Movable, liftable, connections for air hoses, hydraulic quick connectors and stepless 0-100% fan control.
Van Nelle Ontwerpfabriek
The historic monument listed Van Nelle Ontwerpfabriek in Rotterdam (Holland) is an exceptional location. The business property since 1923 has a rich history thanks to the Van Nelle family. Read more on the Van Nelle Ontwerpfabriek website.
For the second life of the building adjustments had to be made. Besides the office space it has the possibility to organize events. However in this historic monument it is not allowed to simply install technical installations.
The solution to this problem? Mobile air handling units. A solution thus far only delivered to technical services suppliers of the event industry. This project was executed in order of Schulte en Lestrade.
